Billy C Boxing Contest - 20/3/2014

For TBCB's latest entry in the Boxing With Billy C fight predictions contest, we've simmed the fights listed below 100 times each. We've offered a brief summary of each fight based on the simulations, or you can read the entire summary of all the fights, which includes a lot of in-depth detail.

  • Vanes Martirosyan vs Mario Lozano: Martirosyan should have no trouble capturing the vacant WBO Inter-Continental light middleweight title in this tilt. He dominated Lozano winning 82 of the simmed bouts, with 32 stoppages. Three bouts were drawn. Lozano managed only 15 wins but over half of those were inside the distance. Lozano has a slim puncher's chance.
  • Anthony Peterson vs Marcos Jimenez: Peterson copped three quarters of the simmed fights, with all but 16 of these wins in the hands of the judges. Although dropped over 60 times Jimenez was tough to stop although overmatched as exhibited by his mere 18 wins.
  • Antonio Tostado Garcia vs Jonathan Vidal: Garcia beat Vidal on a 2 to 1 margin (61-28). Vidal showed an edge in power scoring 31 knockdowns compared to 2 by Garcia. Despite the meager number of knockdowns Garcia notched 3 more wins inside the distance with 10 stoppages. Look for this affair to be decided by the judges.
  • Jorge Melendez vs Richard Gutierrez: Melendez won three quarters of the bouts with 75 victories. 49 of these wins came inside the distance. Melendez's edge in power was dominant, scoring almost 100 more knockdowns, 142 to 46. The average number of rounds was 7.23. Arbitors shouldn't matter in this one.
  • Odlanier Solis vs Tony Thompson: Solis gets the nod in this one, but Thompson proves to be a stern test. Solis garnered only nine more wins with his 49 victories. Stoppages were close, as well, with Solis having the edge 17 to 15.
  • Jose Pedraza vs Alberto Garza: Not much to choose between these two gladiators. Only one bout was drawn. Pedraza edged Garza by a slim 52 to 47 margin. He exhibited a slightly bigger edge in stoppages 46 to 34.
  • Humberto Soto vs Juan Carlos Abreu: The veteran Soto proved to be too large of a challenge for the younger prospect Abreu with 79 wins compared to 17. Stoppage wins were nearly doubled 25 to 13. 47 of Soto's 54 decision victories were unanimous, further illustrating his mastery.
  • Eric Hunter vs Yenifel Vicente: Hunter outboxes Vicente copping the duke 58 times, 48 by decision. Vicente showed a little more pop with 12 stoppages among his 31 wins. This affair will likely go to the judges cards.
  • Sandor Micsko vs Zoltan Sera: Micsko gets the nod in this boxer versus slugger match up 83 to 12. The naturally bigger man's classic boxing ability should counter Sera's aggressiveness. 47 of Micsko's 50 decision wins were unanimous.
  • Vivian Harris vs Jorge Paez Jr: Tough fight to sim between two shop worn vets. Harris won 58 bouts compared to 39 by Paez. 25 of these 39 wins were by stoppage. The bouts were simmed with both fighters at prime and this may have skewed the results a bit.
