Billy C Boxing Contest - 20/12/2013

For TBCB's latest entry in the Boxing With Billy C fight predictions contest, we've simmed the fights listed below 100 times each. We've offered a brief summary of each fight based on the simulations, or you can read the entire summary of all the fights, which includes a lot of in-depth detail.

  • Roy Jones Jr. vs. Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf: This is the most mismatched fight of the week, and it’s likely the most mismatched bout we’ve simmed yet. Jones won 97 of the simulated bouts, with an average of just 5.62 rounds needed for each victory. Incredibly, he only had 7 decisions, all unanimous, with 90 wins coming via stoppage (27 KOs, 63 TKOs).
  • Vusi Malinga vs. Stuart Hall: Malinga should win this one easily, since he took 85 of the simulated fights, but look for a decision here, since 52 of his wins came that way (47 unanimous). Of his 33 victories via stoppage, 10 were KOs and 23 were TKOs.
  • Steve Herelius vs. Nuri Seferi: Herelius will also win without a problem, but he’ll likely need a decision too. Of his 75 wins, 49 were decisions (43 unanimous).
  • Kevin Johnson vs. Christian Hammer: Johnson is another clear winner, with 79 victories, and he’ll also probably go the distance, since 54 of his wins were via decision (46 unanimous).
  • Marco Antonio Ahumada vs. Cesar David Crenz: This will be a close fight that could go either way, but Crenz had the slight edge in our sims, with 52 wins to Ahumada’s 44 victories. Both boxers’ wins favored decisions, but only 14 of Ahumada’s 26 decisions were unanimous, while 27 of Crenz’s 32 decisions were unanimous, so that’s another statistic in Crenz’s favor.
  • Takashi Uchiyama vs. Daiki Kaneko: Uchiyama will have no problem taking care of Kaneko, since he won 81 of the fights. His wins were nearly evenly split between decisions (43, 37 unanimous) and stoppages (38 (13 KOs, 25 TKOs)).
  • Takashi Miura vs. Dante Jardon: Miura is the clear winner here, with 83 wins, and he’ll likely end this one early, since he did so 48 times (18 KOs, 30 TKOs), giving him an average of 8.66 rounds per win. (Most winners tend to have averages a little over 10, since their victory totals often favor decisions.)
  • Kazuto Ioka vs. Felix Alvarado: Ioka is another no-doubt-about-it winner, but unlike Miura, he’ll probably go the distance: Of his 84 wins, 44 were decisions (41 unanimous) while 40 were stoppages (11 KOs, 29 TKOs).
  • Fahlan Sakkreerin vs. Ryo Miyazaki: Sakkreerin will come out on top, since he did so 68 times, but he’ll also have to work for his win, given his average of 11.04 rounds needed for each victory and the fact that 53 of his wins were decisions (just 38 unanimous, with 6 splits and 9 majorities). He only had 15 stoppages, and 13 of those were TKOs.
